COMMITTEE REPORTS
Streets
Rice would like the Council to act on removal of two trees near Okoboji Blvd and Given Ave.
The Council would like quotes on removal of the trees.
Water
Rice reported that Tim McCabe at 1412 Maywood Ave had problems with not having any potable water inside his home. Early this year McCabe had a plumber try blowing air into the service line back to the water main. Still had no water. About 2 days later it began to work. Then in June, McCabe lost pressure again. At this time McCable had Wedeking Construction dig the curb stop up and check it. No water at this point. Wedeking then dug out to the water main and had no water at the water corp that connected to the water main. Rice end up using a tapping machine to run through the water corp before water would flow. Rice stated it’s the responsibility of the Homeowner to install and maintain the water service line from the main to the meter. Rice felt this was inside the water main. Rice stated in the 21 years he had been here, nothing like this had happened. The Council felt the main is the City’s responsibility.
Sanitation
Rice explained the problems with how the landfill is maintaining the road going into and out of the landfill. Rice is on the Landfill Commission and the committee will be discussing this problem.
Motion/Ladegaard/Paxton/carried to adjourn at 7:25.
