COMMITTEES REPORT:
BANKS:
Traughber reported that the Finance Committee had meet with four banks. The four are: United Community, Bank Midwest, Liberty Bank and Northwest Bank. The contract would be for two years. United Community came in at 2.25%, Liberty 2%, Northwest Band, Bank Midwest with a rate of 3.45% and Northwest Bank had several different blended rates from 2.15% to 2.23% with no 2 year contract.
Ladegaard added that with Bank Midwest there will be no statement charge and the City would have an option to buy a remote depositor. With remote depositor check will be deposit from our office with a copy of the check record on our computer. Rice had received a contract for Bank Midwest. Ladegaard recommended that the City Council have our City Attorney look the contract over before the December 8th Council Meeting. The Council Agreed. Seih also stated that the rates were better than the quote he had receive from the Farmers Bank of Spencer. Petersen ask about the CD rates. Traughber stated that this rate was better than any CD rate. Petersen recommend that when the City’s two CD’s come up, that we send out for rate quote. The Council will take action December 8th at their Regular Meeting.
WAGES AND VACATIONS
The Finance Committee revieved wages for Johnson and Rice. The Committee recommend a 6% increase. That would raise Johnson to $30528.00 and Rice to $58300.00. Johnson would also receive two weeks of vacation. The Council will take action December 8th Regular Meeting.
NEW BUSINESS:
PROJECTS - 2009:
Rice explained the water meter project, lighting project, roads, and drainage and misc projects. The City will be going to all radio readers. Lighting project include streetlights for Three Cross Road, Terrace Park Blvd between the Taco House and Wash House and the new City Sign. Resurfacing of roads would be part of 1st and 4th Streets, two trails to be resurfaced, Lake Street, 213th Loop, and some concrete patches. Drainage would be the part of the discharge from the detention pond that hadn’t been replaced after the flood of 1993. Also the City will be up dating the City Code book. Sieh instructed Rice to contact Mr. Den Herder on the patch in front of his home. Sieh stated that the patch had sunk the first year. Seih felt that Mr. Den Herder should be responsible for the replacement cost.

Rice also informed the Council that the Lutheran Church had met with Steve Litts about the trail maybe running though their property. But their not sure where financing would come from. Steve Litts will be at the December 8 Council Meeting to explain more on this topic.
