COMMITTEE REPORTS
STREETS:
Rice reported that the asphalting had been done and they will be back in the next week to seal coat.
WATER:
Rice reported that he had completed his Water Supply Sanitary Survey with the DNR.
The summary recommendation for the City at this time is as follows:
1. Review the contract with Milford Municipal Utilities annually.
2. Increase the size of the mains providing fire flows as possible.
PARKS & REC:
Rice had received a check from Trees Forever for $4193.73. Petersen explained that was for the trees along HYW 86 at Ridge View Estates. Petersen reminded the Council that the City had taken four trees out last year and by ordinance we need to replace those trees somewhere in the City.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Rice recommended the Council wait until the June meeting to take action on paving requests from Jones Beach. Rice would like to contact property owners that had concerns about paving in front of the mailboxes. Council agreed to wait.
NEW BUSINESS
Rice presented a Notice of Abate Nuisance for property owned by Gail Andrews and Dave C. Sieber. Rice had received complaints about the weed and grass in their 3 lots.

Motion/Ladegaard/Paxton/carried to wave the first 2 consideration of a resolution adjusting water and garbage rates.

Motion/Ladegaard/Paxton/carried to approve Resolution No. 2009-5, a resolution adopting water and garbage rates.

Motion/Petersen/Booth/carried to wave the first 2 consideration of Ordinance for golf carts on city streets. This Ordinance is tailored from Iowa code 321.247- “Golf cart operation on city streets”.
Aye: Booth, Paxton, Petersen, Ladegaard
Nay: None

Rice had a requested to attend Clerk’s school in Ames for the week of July 13th at a cost of $432.00. This would be once a year for the next 3 years.
Motion/Petersen/Booth/carried to send Rice to Clerk’s School

The Council Meeting will be moved to July 20.
