COMMITTEE REPORT
Rice reported that tree limbs are hanging over a home and power wires at the public access that is know as White Oaks Campground. Council direct Rice to get a tree trimmer to remove the limbs.
NEW BUSINESS
Craig and Deb Miner
Traughber opened discussion on Craig and Deb Miners problem with drainage at the intersection of 1St and 4th Street. The Miner’s understands that the City can’t control the water when it comes down that fast in a short amount of time. The Minor’s just wanted to know if there would be anything the City could do to help slow the water down.
Sieh suggested we do a grate type of drain like we did at the intersection of Milford Street and Terrace Park Blvd. Rice told the Council that this drain has taken care of the problem for the residence in that area. Sieh added that we will also be milling a street in that area the first of October and that we should mill part of 1st and 4th to allow the water to stay on the east of the road. Ladegaard felt that we should help the Miner’s.
The Council agreed to have Seih and Rice proceed with the drain and milling of the road to help the water problem.
Mayor signed the contract with Valley Construction for the Okoboji Blvd Project.
A & M Laundry
Rice explained to the Council the cost of renting uniforms. Rice stated the city would save around $500.00 by give Bob and him a $500.00 clothing allowance each a year.
Motion/Paxton/Booth/carried to have a $250.00 clothing allowance in July and the other $250.00 in January.
Drainage on Lake Street
Rice explained Milford was burying lines to the Pump House on Lake Street. Rice felt that this would be the time to replace concrete drainage tiles that are bad along Lake Street. Rice had a bid from Sam Wedeking Construction for $9000.00 for 200’. Traughber explained to the Council that the tile was bad when it had been replaced going down to the lake years ago.
Motion/Sieh/Paxton/carried to have Sam Wedeking Construction replace the concrete tile.
Resolution 2009-8- City Street Financial Report
Rice explained the City Street Financial Report.
Moiton/Ladegaard/Booth/carried to accept the Resolution 2009-8 as presented.
