Welcome to West Okoboji
The City of West Okoboji is located in Dickinson County nestled between Arnolds Park and Wahpeton. The county is named in honor of Daniel S. Dickinson, a lawyer and senator from New York. The community is on West Lake Okoboji, from which its name was taken. At one time, West Okoboji and Wahpeton were the same town, but separated in September of 1930.
Garbage Pickup is Monday only. Please have garbage out Sunday night. Garbage will be rejected if any recyclables are in the garbage. Garbage bags are available at City Hall. If garbage day falls on a holiday it will be pick-up on Tuesday.
The City offers curbside pickup of plastic, glass, tin, paper and cardboard the 4th Monday in September – May. If recycling falls on a holiday it will be picked up the following day.
