Water

Bills are mailed quarterly after July 1, October 1, January 1 and April 1 for the previous quarter.

Minimum Water Fee per Quarter up to 12,000 gallons = $158.51 Minimum Charge + 6% Sales Tax

Usage in excess of 12,000 gallons, is billed at a rate of $6.34/1000 gallons of usage + 6% Sales Tax

End User Fees are $148.56 per quarter (July 1, 2024).

ACH payment option available:  ACH Authorization Form [PDF, 429.21 KB] [PDF, 429.21 KB]. If you sign up for this service please be aware you will continue to receive your utility bill as usual.  However, in the payment section it will say "BILL PAY - DO NOT PAY" this means your bank account will be billed the amount shown on the bill date due.  If the due date falls on a weekend or holiday it will be processed the next business day.

Garbage & Recycling

Billed quarterly by the City, residential rates = $48.25 per quarter.

For commercial, industrial and institutional premises fees are determined on the volume of waste and frequency of collection.

Garbage Pickup is on Monday only.  If a city observed holiday is on a Monday, Garbage will be picked up on Tuesday(*see calendar if there is a question). Have garbage out by 7 A.M.

Curbside Recycling will be picked up the 2nd and 4th Mondays during June, July and August and the last Monday from September through May.  If the recycling day falls on a Holiday, it will be picked up the following day.

If doing a construction project, remodeling or have other large items that are not common household waste please take those items to the Dickinson County Landfill or rent a dumpster with Junk Ease 712-330-1135, Town and Country Disposal 712-472-2493 or Waste Management 888-275-1401.

Green Waste / Trees / Brush

Green Waste Curbside Pickup will be on Tuesday mornings May - October weather permitting.  For collection at the property owner's curb all branches up to four inches in diameter must be bundled and tied with biodegradable twine in lengths less than four feet.  Each bundle shall not exceed 18 inches in diameter and cannot exceed 40 pounds in weight.  Leaves and grass clippings shall be placed in 30-gallon brown kraft paper bags (found at such places as Wal-Mart, ACE Hardware, Menards, Hy-Vee) and cannot exceed 40 pounds in weight.  Green waste pickup is for residential property only.  If a commercial business is hired by the property owner to take care of green waste it is not permissible to dispose at the City compost site or place out for City collection.  Green waste does not include tree stumps or branches that exceed four inches in diameter.  Those larger than four inches in diameter or longer than four feet in length will need to be brought to the green waste site by the property owner at the property owners' expense.  Location is 2260 220th St. (A34), Milford (1/2 mile east of the Catholic Church).  See website for more information www.dickinsoncountyconservationboard.com/recycling-center/  or phone: 712-338-2549.

A tag can be purchased at city hall.  Have your item at the roadside and our public works department will pick it up at your location.  All white goods must be cleaned out or items will not be picked up.
